Redevelopment of the
New St Conor’s College

On behalf of the Trustees of St Conor’s College, welcome to the Digital Public Information Event for the redevelopment of the new St Conor’s College, which will involve two separate development proposals: the development of temporary mobile classroom accommodation at the St. Mary’s site in Clady, and the development of a new school campus at the St Paul’s site in Kilrea.

Below you can view the proposed development plans for the two sites and complete online feedback forms based on the information provided.

The information contained on this website and feedback forms provided are in addition to a public consultation event which will be held at the existing St Mary’s site (230 Mayogall Road, Clady) on Monday 13th May 2024 between 4pm and 7pm (relating to the temporary mobile accommodation), and the existing St Paul’s site (11 Bann Road, Kilrea) on Tuesday 14th May 2024 between 4pm and 7pm (relating to the new school campus at the St Paul’s site in Kilrea). Details of these events have been advertised in the local press and notification leaflets circulated within the vicinity of the proposed sites.

This website provides an alternative public consultation platform to the events to be held within the two school campuses. The Trustees of the school would encourage all those with an interest in the proposals to leave their feedback below. Contact details of all respondents will be held confidentially in line with GDPR regulations.

The St Mary’s Site (Senior School) Clady

`The development proposal at the St. Mary’s site in Clady consists of temporary mobile classroom accommodation, hard play areas and associated site works to the rear of the site to facilitate pupils and staff during construction of the new redeveloped St. Conor’s College at its St. Pauls (Junior School) campus in Kilrea.

The St Paul’s Site (Junior School) Kilrea

The development proposal at the St Paul’s site in Kilrea consists of the demolition of the existing buildings and development of a new post primary school, to accommodate the amalgamation of junior and senior campuses of up to 730 pupils. Works are to include new school accommodation, new synthetic pitches and hard play areas, along with the reconfiguration of internal vehicular routes to include new car parking area and a separate bus set down / pick up area. There will be retention of vehicular access off the Bann Road, landscaping, underground drainage system and associated site works.

What Happens Next?

This digital public information event will close on Thursday 23rd May 2024 and any comments up to that point in time will be considered by the design team. We would ask that comments are submitted either via this website or to Resolve Planning directly no later than Thursday 23rd May 2024. Once all of the feedback has been considered and any necessary changes made, the design team will proceed to submit a planning application.

It is important to note that any feedback provided on this website is a representation to the applicant, and not to the planning departments in Mid Ulster District Council (Clady site) or Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council (Kilrea site) directly. If a planning application is subsequently submitted, normal neighbour notification and publicity will be undertaken and you will have the opportunity to make formal representations regarding the proposal at that time.
